Saraswati Puja is one of the main festivals of East India which is celebrated on the 5th day of Magh month of the Hindu Calendar, which falls in January or February of English Calendar. This day is called Basant Panchami (Fifth Day of Spring) and indicates the beginning of the

Maa Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, art, music, and wisdom. She is revered for her purifying and enriching powers, and is worshipped by people for endowment of wisdom and learning. She represents the creative and inspirational aspect of Shakti. Saraswati Puja is observed during that period of the year when nature is afresh and blossoming after a harsh winter. Symbolically, this puja represents the removal of gloominess and ushering in of freshness or the onset of spring.
